making explorer like app

I want an app like explorer / mmc.
Menu and toolbar on top.
Left pane with tree, right pane with table , splitter in between

Seems like docking is what I want but the docs do a poor job of saying what each container can / must hold. I can copy the sample but end up with too much decoration / features. (tabs and titles on pane groups etc)

Any advise please

We appologize for the poor documentation. We are currently working on better one. We planned that to end of the year we will replace most of the articles with better ones.
