I have a project that is in the process of moving from modeling to code and after I read the statement last week in a thread that the Q1 2010 release was expected this week, I put it into my project scope. Since the bits are not yet available, I have been snooping around for documentation, looking at the last internal build, etc...

Today however I spent some time in the forums looking up two keywords: "Silverlight" and "RIA".

There is a significant amount of unintentional misinformation, contradictions and dangling threads that leaves me in a state of utter confusion on what is and is not in the Q1 2010 release of OpenAccess.

Since we have to be close to the release at this point, could we please get an official answer to the following questions:

1) Is the Telerik RIA provider in the Q1 2010 release?
2) Is there support for Silverlight 4 in the Q1 2010 release?
3) If the question to 1 and/or 2 is "No", will there be an interim release or are we looking at Q2 2010 before we can expect support?

I love what you guys are doing with OpenAccess and I know that the visual designer is a huge time sink coupled with the release of a brand new IDE. I am not faulting your design/release decisions, but I have become accustomed to designing my software with Telerik in my mind and the answers to the questions will have direct impacts on how I implement on solution.

Thanks,

Jim

Hello James Legan,
We are currently still working on the VS2010 support. So what we can do immediately after we make the VS2010 support is to provide you with the codebase for the provider, and assist you further into kick starting your application. We will release the VS2010 support as soon as we have it. In the current state we fully support reading data, but updating is not straight-forward. We are working on that too. Also this will be just the first step, we will provide design-time support for RIA (I hope in Q2) that will be much more advanced that you currently get out of the box with RIA services.

All the best,

As always, you guys are my heros :).

What do I need to do to get on the list to receive the bits?

Thanks,

Jim
