Hello,
I see from answers to two old posts to this forum (URLs below) that a license for each build server or agent was not necessary as recently as March 2012, but that was quite some time ago. Could someone from Telerik confirm that the same licensing policy remains in effect? And if not, whether I need to acquire licenses per server or per build agent (we have some build servers running multiple agents), and whether the licensing mechanism plays well with VMs (all of our build servers are VMs). Thanks in advance.

Also, perhaps it would be worthwhile to have licensing questions like this in some FAQs area of the main site.

Hi Tom,
I have exactly the same question ;) Does the licensing policy for TFS server and build agents from 2012 persist?
Regards,
Oliver
Oliver,
Hello. Obviously, I cannot speak for Telerik, so I have included the e-mail (headers and such stripped) conversation I had with Mike Koulopoulos, one of their representatives. I determined that our usage of JustMock on build servers was compliant without the purchase of extra licenses, based on the current license agreement at the URL provided by Mike (as of 07th March 2017). The motivation for my original query was setting up an additional four build servers.
Note that I still believe that prominent links to product EULAs should be present on the site; if I'm already perusing the site, I shouldn't have to execute a Google search just to find a EULA. Maybe they've updated it by now, but I haven't revisited it since. Normally, our QA architect would have handled this, but he was occupied with critical tasks at the time.

Thanks Tom, that was the indication I was getting as well.
For future reference, you can google “<Product Name>
EULA” for any of our offerings and it should be the top result!

Mike,
Thank you for the link. It
would have been a real time-saver for me if that were prominently available on
the Telerik web-site.
My reading of section 1.2 “Scope
of Use” informs me that our usage of Telerik JustMock on build servers is fully
compliant, much like the prior answers in the Telerik online forums to which I
had originally linked. I have retained a copy of the EULA for our
records. Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Tom,
This iteration of the EULA was updated on January 27, 2014.
And has been in use since that date!

Mike,
Hello. How long ago did
this change since the prior answers I linked in my original forum post?

Hi Tom,
I saw you had reached out to us with some licensing
questions.
We offer JustMock on a per user licensing agreement, meaning
any user utilizing the software requires a separate license. Additionally,
these users can have their licensing installed on separate machines so long as
they are not being run concurrently.
If the license is installed on 2 machines by a single
developer, and being run concurrently, this would require 2 separate licenses.
I hope this clarifies the question you were looking to have
answered, let me know if you need any additional information!
