Did that and it doesn't record.  Using IE8, Windows 7.  I turned UAC off.

Hello Darren,

Thanks for your evaluation of WebUI Test Studio and the information on your system.

If you haven't already done so, please also make sure that IE is configured for automation as in this link. Also, here are links for configuring Firefox and Safari.

Please post back if the recording tool bar does not appear after configuring IE and if you are running WebUI under the local machine admin account (ie the install account) or at least an account that is part of the Administrators group.

All the best,

Thanks for the links.

I adjusted all the settings as outlined - still doesn't work.  I'm running a 64 bit edition of Windows 7 - is that a factor?

Hi again Darren,

The remote recorder should work for Win 7 64 bit. Do you have IE 64 bit installed and if so, is WebUI launching it instead of the 32 bit version?

Hello again Darren,

Just wanted to touch base and see if this problem is still occurring. If so, can you try disabling all other
Add-Ons for IE to see if there maybe any interference from them.

We haven't been able to get it to work.  We are only running ie 64 bit so I'm just assuming now that is the problem.

Hi again Darren,

Thanks for the reply and the extra info. I believe that both versions of IE (32 and 64 bit) should be installed side by side. Here is a link to a thread from Microsoft on how to set the 32 bit as default with a post that seemed to work for most users there.

Hope that helps,
Nelson

Hello again dg,

Just wanted to check back and see if you do have both IE versions installed, and also if the link to the forum post helped.

Best wishes,
Nelson
