We're now starting to use the RadGridView in a production environent, and are encountering a few issues. I'm logging them separately here, though am happy to log them as support tickets if you prefer.
The first issue relates to filtering performance in a large grid. One of our grids contains about 10,000 rows, and by and large this works fine. However, on some client machines, the filter popup is taking 10 or 20 seconds to populate. This would be acceptable if it only happened the first time the filter was used, but it happens every time.
Is there any way to speed this up, or could you consider adding some caching so that it remembers the filter value list for each column (flushig it of course if data is modified or rebound)? It is causing us a big head-ache with our users.

Hi Ben,
We are looking into numerous ways to improve our filtering functionality for the next version of RadGridView. Populating distinct values on demand is also on our list as well. Unfortunately these improvements will be available for the next major release.
Meanwhile I will investigate whether it is possible to optimize the current version of the filtering drop down. If we are able to introduce some improvements I will immediately write you back.
