The grid in question is using Batch Editing and has a DetailView for each row. Also has the ".KeyboardNavigation(kbd => kbd.EditOnTab(true)) setting.
Is there a keystroke tied to the "caret" that toggles the visibility of the DetailView? Thanks!

I am afraid that there isn't key combination for expand/collapse of the detail view.
