When resizing the ribbon, with RadRibbonGroup Variants for medium / small sizes and collapsetomedium / collapsetosmall set on various items, I observe that the controls in question will shrink to smaller sizes when space is needed but will not expand to larger sizes when the window resizes up. Is this a bug? Is this incorrect usage of the control? I would like items to resize up back to their original size when space allows.

Hi Matt Eland,

This issue is addressed and scheduled for fixing soon. The fix should be available in the next major release (or earlier in some of the internal builds).
Hope this time frame is ok for you.

All the best,

Not terribly. I'm inclined to disable item collapsing / resizing in the meantime. Is there no workaround for this issue?

Hi Matt Eland,

The issue is already resolved and will be available for download with the next internal build.
You can omit the variants on the groups and set the appropriate Size to your RibbonButtons, you may also omit the setting of the Button's CollapseToSmall and CollapseToMedium properties - they're default values are Never. This will prevent the groups from resizing.

Kind regards,

Thanks. I meant a workaround for the bug that would allow it to function as the user would want it to. It's fairly easy to remove the collapsing functionality, but I'd rather not do that since it'd mean that users would lose the resizing functionality the Telerik ribbon component attempted to offer.

Waiting for the next major release is not an option and I definitely have high concerns regarding stability of any internal build. I hate to lose end-user functionality by upgrading from an older version of Telerik to the current version due to bugs I have to work around - especially since I wanted to upgrade primarily for bugfixes for other issues.

Hi Matt Eland,

Is it possible for you then to send us example project of the way you use the RibbonView with some example Groups that is demonstrating the problem. That way will be easier for us to find you a workaround specifically for your use case. Or at least you can send us some example xaml.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Greetings,
