Hi

We are currently using version 2012.2.725.1040 of your Silverlight controls and have recently come across the following problem.  When text is imported from Word documents containing Chinese (Simplified) text, your RichTextBox control seems unable to wrap the text correctly.  As can be seen in the attached Word document (containing screenshots and the original text) it ends up stretching out the lines obscurely and/or breaking at strange places.

Is there an option on the control which can fix this?  Possibly a code hack we can use?  This was unexpected, and unfortunately we could do with a fix as soon as possible.

Thanks.

The attached file is a screenshot of a Word doc showing examples of the problem.  Unfortunately I can only upload images here.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback. We are aware of this problem. Currently, we have some glitches in the layout of Chinese and Japanese text. We are working on them, an hopefully we will be able to deliver some improvements in one of the next official releases.

Kind regards,
Alex

Any further news on this?  This is a fairly major issue with our Chinese support at the moment.

Thanks.

Hi,

We released some significant improvements in the support for East Asian languages in the 2013 Q1 SP1 release. You can see them live in our online demos. You can also check out this blog post for additional information.
