Hi,

For whatever reason the distribution provisioning profile doesn't appear in the code signing identity dropdown in iOS options. If you go into User-Mobile-IOS the AppStore provision appears with the Name and correct App Identifier, it also shows up correctly in the apple developer provisioning portal. When you check on devices in the AppStore provisioning profile in the Graphite UI it says "No provisioned devices found" which I expected as you can't assign devices in apples portal since it's AppStore.

When you go to Project Options-Android and click the dropdown for code signing, the iOS AppStore, iOS Dev and Android code signatures appear in the drop down.

I didn't have this issue with the previous build of Graphite. Has anything changed?

Thanks,
Norman.

If you delete all the provisioning profiles and reopen the project you can add it then.

I'd suggest this is a bug.

Hi Norman,

We're aware the experience with iOS provisioning in Graphite is less than optimal. We've revamped the way projects are ran and published in Mist, and based on the feedback we receive for this latest release we'll streamline codesigning in Graphite in a similar manner.

All the best,

Thanks Yavor.

I would suggest the Graphite UI is tightened up to enforce that icons are in the correct filename format as they get rejected otherwise. For example the UI allows you to use an ICO file (just happened that's the format I was given), the uploaded will reject it and also it will reject it unless it's called icon.png, icon@2x.png, icon-72.png   etc. Same apples to the iPhone5 splash which needs to be called Default-568h@2xpng.png.

A Hyperlink in the iOS properties to something with specific icon/splash guidelines rather than the high level URL it points to would be useful.

It would be good if the UI would enforce the AppLoader image rules as the AppStore unloader gives back less than useful messages. It's fine when once know how but a little validation in the designer would make the process easier.

It'll just make a great tool more productive for people doing their 1st upload.

Kind Regards,
Norman.

Hey Norman,

We took some time to look at your request regarding the iOS icons. Our current implementation let you upload an image with any format or name. We internally resize and rename the image to the appropriate dimensions. So when you upload an ICO file with any name, it will be converted to PNG file with the appropriate name (in your case icon.png). It would be great if you could try it yourself and tell us if you have any unexpected problems.

Currently you are able to upload any kind of files, not only images, which is a bug and will be fixed for one of our next releases.

Thank you very much for the feedback and for helping us improve the usability of Icenium.

Kind regards,
Kristina

Hi Kristina,

Thanks for your feedback.

I used the latest build of Graphite and that wasn't the case when I submitted the app on Friday to the AppStore. Perhaps as I'd created the project in a previous version it had legacy issues (assuming that behavior you describe was introduced in 1.2). When I renamed the artwork  (and changed the icon format) it was accepted by the uploader.

My app is been reviewed so I can't test this for now.

It would be handy if you could see the generated info file for the app.

Thanks,
Norman.

Back to the original topic, I loaded  a distribution provisioning profile that is not an App Store profile, it's Ad Hoc.  Is it not possible to build and Ad Hoc app with Grapthite?  This app will not be availalble on the App Store as it's just an internal company app.

Hello Buddy,

Thank you for trying out Icenium. You can build and download AdHoc app in Icenium Mist (using Run > On Device > with Provision).

Here is link to documentation topic on this.
Here is link to Mist just use same login provider as one you used for Graphite and all your provisions and projects will be there.

Check it out and let me know if we can help with something else?

Kind regards,

OK, after fixing a problem with case sensitivity in my Application ID I used Mist to succesfully create a distribuition for my IPad.  Thanks for the help.  WIll Graphite have this capability soon?

Hi Buddy,

Glad you figured that out, and it is right that as stated in Apples developer documentation here "... unlike domain names, app IDs and bundle IDs are case sensitive."

As about AdHoc build in Graphite it will work for testing and deployment via usb cable, but it is not that easy to obtain the .ipa file or force rebuild.

If you think this is valuable use case please file feature request at our feedback portal: To add AdHoc distribution as Publish option for testing and distribution in organizations. This way community can vote and show us what really matters most and help us plan new features accordingly.
