Hello Telerik!

So far so good with these Telerik Silverlight controls. Really good stuff. One question though, is there a RadTimePicker control? I am prototyping the first silverlight app here where I work and I really need a timepicker control? Any ideas of an if and when???????  Thanks very much

Hello Giancarlo,

The simple answer to your question is that it depends on how much functionality do you need. Currently, we don't have it on our schedule for our next major release, due several months from now, but if you need just a simple Time Picker, we could develop one as a bonus. I will be glad to receive your requirements and feedback about such a control.

Best wishes,

Thank you very much for the prompt response. It is very much appreciated.

Regarding the TimePicker control, yes, something simple is all that I need at this moment. The ASP.NET side of this team was the one that introduced me to Telerik in my search for our prospective Silverlight vendor. I am currently in the process of prototyping the conversion of one of these ASP.NET apps over to Silverlight as our first ever Silverlight app. This ASP.NET makes extensive use of several RAD controls and so far the RAD Silverlight package includes most of the ones I need except for the RadTimePicker. So really I need something somewhat close in functionality to the ASP.NET version of the RadTimePicker control although we certainly are not making use of all of its features given so many that are available. Basically I just need a control that limits data entry to a time format and that can be data bound. At this point I don't need any kind of pops up or drop down buttons although it would be nice for it to be as close to the asp.net version as possible. Please let me know when you get a chance if anything can and will be done to provider a simple timepicker control. Thanks very much for your help.

Hi Giancarlo,

I researched how difficult would it be to develop a time picker, containing most of the features RadDatePicker for ASP.NET AJAX provides. It appears that it wouldn't be very hard, since most of the functionality is already implemented in RadDatePicker for Silverlight. Actually, you could use the latter to enter dates and times in the format, specified by its Culture property, or the default Application culture, specified by CultureInfo.CurrentCulture. Anyway, the time selection is restricted only to manual typing.

I will be able to provide a specific timeframe for time picker implementation by the end of the week.

Best wishes,
