Yes, we have plans to make it work with other control assemblies. But first we want to make sure that it works flawlessly with our assemblies, before running it for other assemblies or entire xap files.

I really like the approach. From usage point of view it very easy and straight forward. The only issue is that the developer must remember what controls he has used in his project.
A more comprehensive way (probably for future versions or perhaps built as VS plugin) that the your program can evaluate a XAP and sees what controls are used and then based on this finding it will automatically reduces the DLLs. This can be offered for Telerik controls and for third party controls, if it's too difficult, then it can be done like the current style.
Just a suggestion.

Once we are sure that the approach works great with our controls, we will make the Assembly Minifier works for entire xaps and/or integrate it the VS build process.
