I'm using Icenium Mist and following the instructions to use an Ad Hoc distribution profile.  I've added the particular device to the list of devices known to the provisioning profile.  The Icenium Mist Build | iOS | Provision succeeds and produdes a link to an .ipa file (along with a QR code), but following either the link or using a scanner to follow the QR code just leads Safari to ask me what to do with the .ipa file.

Having the same issue. This was previously working fine on my test device, but now the .ipa file is never downloaded or installed to the device.

It is crucial that this gets fixed... we have users that need to be testing the app, and cannot download it onto their phones (which are all registered in the Ad-Hoc distribution profile).

Some more info:

On iOS 7.0.4, Safari doesn't know what to do with the file, as described above.

On an iPad running 6.1.3, when trying to download via QR code, an alert pops up that says "Safari cannot download this file".

Hello Jeff & Melissa,

Unfortunately, this has slipped in Icenium 1.10 and currently, you cannot deploy your app, signed with an Ad Hoc provision, via QR code if you have built it in Mist. We are working on providing a fix for that and will let you know as soon as the fix has been deployed.

For now, here are a few workarounds. You can use either.
  • After the build completes, click Download to get the IPA package. You can then use iTunes to manually install the IPA on the device.
  • Build your app with Ad Hoc provision from Graphite or the Icenium extension for Visual Studio. You can scan the produced QR code.
  • Alternatively, build with a development provision or for Ion.

Thanks for the update Iva.

Do you have any ideas of a possible ETA for the fix to be deployed? We can try to use Ion for the time being, but we had some issues with it previously, so I'm not sure it will be a viable option for our testers.

Thank you.
