Is visual studio intellisense supported for project elements?

Whenever I have tried to create a coded step, I dont get intellisense for any of the members of "Pages" or any of the subsequent elements that have been added to the project.

Have I missed something?

Hi Ryan,
yes, definitely. Here's a short video where I demonstrate how I use Intellisense in a Coded Step:

Does it work for you if you use the same steps? If it doesn't work for you, this is probably related to your Visual Studio configuration and not to Test Studio per se.

Hope to hear from you soon!

It would appear as though Resharper v4.1 (v4.1.933.3) cause the intellisense to be lost for the project elements. Intellisense works on the rest of the test code.

I've just updated Resharper to the latest version 5.1, and it works a little bit better but unfortunately intellisense isn't really usable on project elements still. Which is a shame because Resharper is an essential addon for us.

Hello Ryan,

This is a known Resharper problem that the folks with Resharper need to work on. See this KB article for details.

Great shame. Not sure how Resharper can be fixed to include Pages.g.cs code that isnt in the project.

Hello Ryan,

I have to believe that there must be a way. My evidence is that within Visual Studio I can highlight an element name e.g. Pages.myPage.myElement, right click and select Go To Definition and this works within Visual Studio. Thus my thinking is that if Visual Studio can do this, why can't ReSharper be fixed to also work with these automatically generated files?

Best wishes,

How do I tell Test Studio stand alone to automatically make suggestions as I type? I'm looking for a similar Visual Studio/eclipse Intellisense, which auto suggest me syntax and corrections in typed syntax.

Hello Austin,

Test Studio uses a third party component to help you when writing code in a coded file. Though, this component is not as what you are used to from Visual Studio, it displays the different argument options you can use for a method.

Please let me know in case of further questions.
