Hello,

Do you have any plan to integrate the new class Window of Silverlight 5 with the docking control?

It would be great to be able from the menu of the pane to have a button to detach (or re attach) the pane from the docking control and open a real window when the application run out of browser.

Hi Yann,

We are looking into this scenario and we are planning to check is it doable after the 2011 Q3 SP1 release. After that we will decide whether to implement it or not.

Hello Tobias,

We researched this and as it appeared it will be hard to implement this feature, we decided to postpone it and I cannot give you a concrete time frame when it will be implemented. If this feature become a common client request we will consider implementing it with higher priority.

Hi,

Are you refering to the same thing. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.window(v=vs.95).aspx

and also from Telerik - http://blogs.telerik.com/blogs/posts/11-12-12/silverlight-5-and-telerik-radcontrols-what-you-need-to-know.aspx

One of Siliverlight 4 biggest issues was you could not create a second window that could be manipulated outside of the main window. I would have expected this support from Telerik when Silverlight v5 was supported could you please check the above link as it maight be we have our wires crossed and it is supported.

Regards

Toby.

Hello Tobias,

The blog post you pointed doesn't state that the Docking control will support ToolWindows to float out of the main OOB window, but that the controls will support being placed in windows different from the main one.

I logged this feature request in PITS where you could track its progress or give your vote in order to increase the priority of the feature.
