Deploying apps to a USB connected device through companion app is simple enough by scanning the barcode.

But apps that are independently packaged into .apk or .ipa to test custom plugins, seem to require entering a browser link or scanning barcode on device which downloads the app binary for installation.

Cannot the binary be installed directly over USB (ie. using adb for android ) ?

Thanks

Hi Musharraf,

You can run the app on connected devices by using the Build and deploy option in the Windows client (see the screenshot attached to this message). You can read more about setting up and using this feature here:

Run App on Connected Devices (make sure you select the Windows client from the dropdown in the upper right corner)

Visit the Telerik Verified Plugins Marketplace and get the custom Cordova plugin you need, already tweaked to work seamlessly with AppBuilder.

I don't know what the issue was previously but the Build and deploy feature was not bringing up any dialog or installing the app to my device.

I don't know if it was a recent update but the issue has since been fixed and I can deploy to connected devices flawlessly.

Thank you.
