Hi Chris,
We definitely have plans to support this feature in the future, but it is not in our immediate backlog list. It will require a development of a separate component, which will be able to read data from excel file. I will suggest you to submit this a PITS item and if the community votes for it we will definitely raise its priority.
As a side note we plan to introduce Copy/Paste functionality using Silverlight 4 clipboard's access in the near future. It will support copying and pasting to and from Excel.
