Hello Arun,
The Camera sample uses strictly Cordova Camera API, which has an encodingType attribute that only accepts JPEG or PNG, so what you've reported is expected. Other formats selected from File System (Android only) are accepted, but iOS being the "closed" OS it is, does not support such scenario.
