Is there a way currently to set a hyperlink column (or dynamic hyperlink column) to only require one click to navigate to the url?
Right now it seems it takes a click to enter edit mode, and then another click to navigate. The users are confused and think the link is broken....

As far as I know you need to click just once by default - you can check this demo for more info.
