I've been messing around in Blend trying to edit the various templates used on the RadGridView, but without much success so far. While I can see it is very powerful and flexible, with that comes complexity. So is there an idiot's guide to styling the Grid View? I'm specifically interested in changing the header rows, and the mouseover and selected highlight effects.

Hi Mike,
In our online documentation you can find a very useful information about RadGridView's template structure and how to edit its parts in Expression Blend, please follow this link.
I suggest you to use the following approach when you are working with RadGridView in Blend:
1.Find in Assets library a single GridViewRow.
2.Drag it onto the Artboard, right click on it and choose the option Edit Template -> Edit a copy.
You may use the same technique for any other RadGridView part.

I think it worth contributing ...
In my opinion styling the Grid with some "basic" themes really shouldn't require Blend. It would be extremely helpful if some examples that accomplished this via codebehind were presented.
