How to handle popup blocker in IE for downloading files

When creating tests to determine if a file will properly download or open, in some cases IE will block the popup and display it's good ole yellow bar for you to allow it download the file, then Retry the page.

Is there a way to automate within the test a way to handle if IE initially blocks a popup/download, to have the test click the bar and allow it through.  I found a way to handle the Retry box that then appears and the subsequent download dialog, but the not for the IE block itself.

Any ideas?

In the article you mentioned it says to change some settings, that are non changeable by default due to our company's security policy.  Is there another option to have the tool handle the IE blocked download dialogue like it would a normal dialogue?

Hello David,

Unfortunately these are browser specific settings and in order to avoid the problem you are experiencing you need to apply these settings. I cannot think of any workaround regarding this issue.
