[Solved] How to add a new record on the bottom of the grid

Hi forum,
When the user clicks on the add new record button, the grid shows the new record on the top.
Is there any way to add this new record on the bottom of the grid? This would make user to see their new records in the same order he inserted them and not in inverse order.

Hello Oscar,

 Currently this is not possible, but this feature is in our ToDo list and we will do our best to include it in one of the following releases. It will be not possible to include it in the Q3 release that will appear later this month, but we will try to add it in one of the following updates.

Hello Georgi.
I've tested your ajax radGrid and it adds the new rows on the bottom of the grid.
Your silverlight gridView also adds rows on the bottom. The new record template also appears on the bottom of the list. Perfect!
Adding rows on the top of the grid is a very strange behaviour for us.
Unfortunately, we are developing in ASP.NET MVC.

You said it's not possible to include it in the Q3 release but, do you have a date for this? It's very important for us. We are migrating an application to ASP.NET MVC and our customers are used to see their new added rows on the bottom of their grids.

Hello again Oscar,

 Actually, by default the ASP.NET Ajax grid inserts a new row at the top of the grid. There is a configuration option for inserting at the bottom (InsertItemDisplay="Bottom"). The Grid component for MVC however, is not a port of the ASP.NET's RadGrid and such feature still does not exist in it.
The Q3 release is scheduled for the next week and we will not be able to squeeze this feature within this timeframe, but we will do it for SP1 that will appear in January.

I assume you are referring to Q3 2011 SP1. This feature is not available in the latest release, but I talked with our developers and they assured me that it will be included in Q1 2012 which will appear in the middle of the next month. We've had to postpone it, because of fixes and features with higher priority - I hope you will understand our position in this matter.

You said this would appear in SP1 in January and so I told my customers - they've have been waiting for this since November.
I know you have your own priorities but I hope you will understand my position in this matter.

I perfectly understand your concerns and I apologize for the inconvenience. We will make sure that the feature is implemented in Q1 and till then, I would suggest to use the workaround proposed by Stephan in this forum thread.

Hi Silpa,

This feature was included in the Q2 2012 release of our MVC grid (see the release notes log for more info on all new features). If you want to utilize it, you will need to upgrade to this version.
