Are there any known issues with hosting TeamPulse on Azure? Is it currently supported and are there any additional steps that are needed to get it working correctly?

We are planning on migrating our current instance hosted on our own servers to Azure over the next few weeks.

Thanks

Clyde

Hello Clyde,

Hosting TeamPulse in Azure is not officially supported. So far several customers have reported that they are hosting their TeamPulse instances in Azure, but we still can not recommend it as we currently do not provide full support for this scenario, especially when using Asure SQL Database instead of SQL Server in Azure VM.

Yet it is in our plans to do a full research and provide official statement and documentation on the supportability of TeamPulse deployment in Azure. Please stay tuned for future updates on the topic.

Hello Oleg,

is there any documents/articles that you could provide on how to upload Telerik TeamPulse on Azure?

Kind regards

Hello Michael,

I am afraid we have no documentation on how to host TeamPulse in Azure as it is currently not a supported option. We plan to perform a research on hosting TeamPulse in Azure and other cloud platforms perhaps till the end of the year.

We will make sure to notify you as soon as we have move information on the subject.

After quite a bit of experimentation, I managed to successfully migrate our Telerik TeamPulse database from SQLServer to Azure SQL - see http://www.telerik.com/forums/hosting#uM1DBOv2F06g70BSJ9jKYA.

(NB our version was Team Pulse Q1 2014, other versions may need slightly different treatment, although I think the approach of editing the script to adding a clustered index to any tables that don't have one should still work).

Hope this helps

Hello Patrick,

Thank you for sharing your experience and for posting the link to the other post. It could be used as additional reference by other people interested in the topic. I have to mention though that although this solution works in your case, it is still not officially supported. We might not be able to provide assistance for some issues that could potentially arise using TeamPulse in this setup and there are risks related to consequent upgrades.

Oleg
