Hello

I am currently pushing the RadChart slightly into drawing a number of series (in the hundreds). The business requirement is for this chart to be saved and there would be a narrow-down option to get to a more meaningful chart.

Just wondering:
  • How many series can i safely go up to, even if its just a rule of thumb?
  • Is there some kind of setting/workaround that can allow me to draw this somehow without crashing?

I'm using Vista theme, and ColumnSeries. The telerik version I'm using is 2011.2.712.1040

Attached a screenshot.

Hello Paul,

Generally there is no hardcoded series count limit and it is dependent on your specific hardware configuration (e.g. we were able to visualize 500-800 series with single data point on a quad-core machine with 8GB RAM). Also, there are no settings that can prevent you from setting too many series but generally if your scenario will require such enormous amount of series, we would suggest you to use our new lightweight RadChartView control that addresses some of the limitations and shortcomings of RadChart (especially performance-wise) and should have a higher series threshold limit. You can find more information on the differences between RadChart and RadChartView here.

Hope this helps.
