Grid View first column beginning has draggable line. What is this?

Grid View first column beginning has a draggable vertical line. This is being draggable. May i know waht is the functionality and purpose of it? If I want to remove it, how do i remove?. Please finc the attached screen shots for exact marking.

Hi,

 This is our frozen slitter. You can remove it if you set CanUserFreezeColumns to false.
