I was just wondering what your enhancements to the grid will be in Q1.  Mainly, if you are working on increasing the performance of the grid.

Thanks,
Chad

Hello Chad,

Our next release will be very exciting - we are going to introduce many improvements and new features like frozen columns and export to Word, and Excel. We are also putting a lot of effort on improving performance so there should be a noticeable gain in that aspect.

Kind regards,

Is the Grid (and Docking, for that matter) going to see Telerik Theme support in Q1 as well?

I think that would definitely qualify the release as exciting. :)

Hi Serrin,

What do you mean by Theme support for the Grid?

We are making many theme adjustments so the Grid will be included in the common skinning mechanism, that is available for the rest of the controls.

I meant to ask about what you answered in your second sentence, just not as eloquently. :)

That's good to hear,
I'm just wondering when the release date for this will be.  The excel export is a must for us right now, along with being able to change column headers, if I were to pay for a license would I be able to get the excel export functionality before release?

Hello Chad,

Vladimir Enchev recently wrote a blog post about exporting grid data to various formats, including Excel:
http://blogs.telerik.com/vladimirenchev/posts/09-01-22/Export_to_Word_Excel_and_Csv_with_RadGridView_for_Silverlight.aspx

If you need it right now, you could build it by yourself, following the instructions from the blog post. The grid will contain virtually the same extension methods in Q1.

What do you mean by "change column headers"? I need this information to be able to confirm that we are working on such functionality,

Kind regards,
