Hi,

I want to develop an client application that retrieves data from
a server when provoked by a notification from a message such as Google Cloud
Messaging. There are a lot of code samples out there for achieving this using
eclipse and jar files but none for Icenium. Do you have a sample showing this or
could you provide some pointers.

Regards,

Joe

Hello Joe,

This can be achieved by using this Cordova plugin. Unfortunately we did not support it yet, but we will consider adding it to the list of supported ones. Can you please submit it as a feature request on our feedback portal so other community members can vote for it. This will help us prioritize which plugins to support next.

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for the reply, there appears to be a lot of positive feedback for your product but as always with new developments people are keen to see additional features added that suit there own needs, I have added a comment to the feature requests and voted for what appears to fit best with my needs.

Do you have an indication of the time-scale for some of these features being added to Icenium. Also if it is not possible to implement GCM at the moment Is it possible to intercept text messages sent to the device and act upon these messages?

Thanks,
Joe

As a cloud based product we plan to update Icenium on a regular basis. Regarding the plugins that we are going to support we will add support first for the most requested ones - like Barcode Scanner for example.

Regarding your other question about SMS interception, I don't think this will be possible without any native part again in the form of a plugin.

All the best,
