I have a need for a global data source. One that can be used in multiple tests such as $(BasicStoryID) that contains one row. This ID is used in multiple tests but when I get a DB refresh and make copies of my documents to be used in testing I need one location to update the $(BasicStoryID) so that I don't have to change 100 tests. And where would I begin to set that up...currently I can only create a datasource per test.

I found what I was looking for...it was the External data source.

Rob

Thanks

Hello Rob,

I am glad you have found the right solution. It is true you can use a spreadsheet or a database or T-SQL as your external datasource or the internal data table (which is per test). And yes you can bind the same data source to multiple tests.

Let us know if you need any further assistance with this.

Sincerely yours,
