I haven't been able to find a way to do this in the documentation, but what I would like to do is get text off a web page, assign it to a variable, and then use it later for verification purposes.  Is there a way to do this?

Hi Michael Flynn,

This is our new (as of our 2010 Q3 release) Extract feature. To use this feature:

  1. Open the test  project in
  2. Bring up the recorder and navigate that contains the element you want to extract (the text from your description)
  3. Turn on highlighting
  4. Hover over the element in question until the blue nub appears
  5. Click the blue nub
  6. Click Quick Tasks (marked in screen shot)
  7. Scroll to the bottom and choose Extract... for the text you are targeting.

I will add this to our list of kb articles/walkthroughs to create for our users. Please let me know if you have issues doing the above.

Greetings,
