Ok, Silverlight 4/5 seems not to be dead for the next years.
But even if it isn't an official statement of MS there seems to be no future for Silverlight for Windows Phone 7.
I believe that Windows Phone 8 will be based on WinRT.
Ok, *old* Silverlight for WP applications may still run on that devices with WP8 but there is no reason to invest any time in new apps based on Silverlight for WP.
The future will be XAML/WinRT (or JS/HTML5)
JS/HTML5 development is covered by KendoUI.
But what about the roadmap of Teleriks XAML/WinRT controls?
I'm a big fan of the Telerik controls and have just installed Windows 8 and Visual Studio 11.
Is it possible to join any beta program for testing the Telerik WinRT-XAML controls?
There are still some Telerik blog entries about WinRT but no source code.
I want to dive deeper ..

Me to. I am really instrested in the WinRT stuff. As it seems the Silverlight bits wont work on the Windows8 full screen IE in desktop or ARM devices...

Yes, you can join our Win8 EAP at http://www.telerik.com/early-windows-8-adopters.aspx. The first results of this major initiative (building native components for Win8 Metro Style apps) will start appearing this summer, but we'll reach out to all the early adopters before the first public beta release.
