[Solved] Freeze or lock grid columns

Is there a good example on how to freeze the first column for in a Windows 8 XAML Grid control?

Thank you for your question.

At this point, RadDataGrid does not support freezing columns. Nevertheless, this is something that we intend to implement in the future, but we do not have a specific time frame for the availability of this feature just yet.

I would suggest you log this feature request in our public Ideas and Feedback Portal so other customers can also vote for it (the higher the demand, the higher the priority).

Hi,
As a follow up question, we're currently looking for a Windows 8 XAML component capable displaying variable sized cells with freezed panes, both horizontal and vertical ones, basically something similar to this grid:

Is there currently any Telerik component capable displaying this "tv program-like" grid, or any plan creating it in near future?

Hello Mirko,

From the given description, I believe the control you need is RadGanttView or RadScheduler. Unfortunately, we do not have any of these controls in our suite and we do not have concrete plans for their implementation yet. For the Q3 2013 official release we are going to introduce RadMap, which is a major component, and also RangeSlider and RadialMenu.
