Is there a way to keep a floating pane from being dragged off of it's container or at least from being dragged out of focus of the browser window?

In the demo for Docking it is very close to this behavior, however it does eventually allow the pane to be dragged out of focus.  In my application it doesn't seem to behave even quite the same as the demo.  I am able to drag a floating pane out of focus immediately (no initial stop like in the demo).  I am using the Q1 SP1 (2009.1.413.1020).

Is there a particular setting that I am not setting for my application?

Thank you for any help and input.
Jeremy

Hello Jeremy,

If you meant that the ToolWindows cannot be dragged out of the Example area - this is because the other components have greater Canvas.ZIndex than the control containing the Docking (the Example area control).

I hope this answers the question.

Hi Miroslav,

I was just wondering if there was an update to this as I am finding it to be an issue in my current project?

I am currently using the Telerik Docking control inside another set of layout controls (Blacklight Controls) and have the same issue. It is possible to drag and drop a floating panel with enough of it "off-screen" so that the header section is "off-screen" or obscured and it cannot be dragged back again.

You can reproduce this in your demo examples. On the "First Look" example, click and drag the floating pane off the top of the example area. You can drop it so that the header area is total obscured. You cannot then recover the pane.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Thanks in advance,

Jonathan

Hello Jonathan,

We are aware of this behavior. Please find this link as a workaround of this issue.
