Hi;

Have you guys finalized the component list for version 1 and if yes, can you please post it?

Has the price for Silverlight "studio only" been set yet?

Thanks!
..Ben

Hello Ben,

Thank you for your interest in our Silverlight components.

Yes, we have the list of the components that will be included in the upcoming downloadable release:

 - RadTreeView
 - RadMenu

 - RadTabStrip
 - RadCalendar
 - RadDatePicker

 - RadMediaPlayer
 - RadUpload

 - RadSlider
 - RadCube
 - RadNumericUpDn
 - RadProgressBar

We will have a public CTP, at the end of this month targeting the BETA2 release of the MS Silverlight2 plugin, where you will be able to play with the controls and give us any feedback you may have. The CTP will be shipped with Full API documentation and an application that shows the usage of all the included controls.

Please let us know if you need anything specific implemented in our control suite - we will be glad to hear your opinion.

Thank you for prompt response! Yes, I'm very interested about your products.

Please be sure marketing will create a "Silverlight" package only, so I don't have to buy all the other Winfom amd ASP controls.

I was hoping to see "Rich Edit Control" which Beta 1 misses severely. If MSFT doesn't have that in Beta 2, you guys need to work on it ASAP :-)

Thank you and keep me posted!

I'm guessing  you guys work pretty closely with Microsoft (perhaps have some good contacts inside MS?)  Can we take it to mean that you feel as though MS will be releasing Silverlight 2 Beta 2 soon?

I'd be thrilled as their lastest SP1 for VS2008 forced me (and most everyone else) to uninstall Silverlight Beta 1 tools.

Yes, we are developing the controls with internal builds of Silverlight Beta 2, but unfortunately I don't know when they will become publicly available. I hope that this will happen by the end of this month :-)

Hi All,

We have both short and long term plans about the Silverlight suite. Our short term plans include the development of the following controls:

 - RadWindow
 - RadComboBox
 - RadPanelBar
 - RadSlider

Also almost of the currently presented controls will be available for WPF ( internaly we are sharing the code between our Silverlight and WPF controls which at the end will produce controls for both Silverlight/WPF platforms that has exactly the same API and Appearance)

Our short term plans are really in the very near future - we are targeting the Telerik Q2 release which will be at the end of July.

The RichEdit control is in our long-term plans - we are still not sure what is the best way to implement this control - we hope that the Silverlight runtime will add support for Rich Text in some form that will help us choose the best way to develop the Rich Text control.

About the PasswordTextBox - we believe this should be part from the Silverlight runtime in the very near future.

We are also currently working on a GridView and Scheduler controls which will be announced in our Q3 release timeframe.

What do you think on this schedule? Do you have any other ideas/needs - pls share with us - we are trying to make the suite fully complete by the time the Silverlight2 is not in beta ( which is expected somewhere at the end of the summer).

I like both your short term and long term.

What functionality does PanelBar offer? Do you have something similar in ASP you can point me to it?

Secondly, The RADWindow, is it like a modal window where the user can not do anything with the parent window until they close the Window?

Hi Ben,

About the Panelbar - yes, it will mimic the functionality of our RadPanelBar for Ajax. You can see the demos of this control here:
http://www.telerik.com/DEMOS/ASPNET/Prometheus/PanelBar/Examples/Functionality/FirstLook/DefaultCS.aspx

As for the RadWindow - yes it will have the modal behavior and user will not be able to interact with the rest of the page.

Thanks!

Oh, I can use this right now ;-)

Excellent! Be sure to give us the ability to skin it, like Vista Skin or Apple skin and etc. Also, should give option for animation to open and close from different choices.

BTW, ScottGu has one his guys contact me and we resolved my problem. So, now I should be downloading your stuff.

How stable is this release? :-)

Regarding your cube... I can use the six sides to put content on? And I can put any SL content?

Is there anything to watch for?

Hi Ben,

I'm glad you solved your problems with VS!

About the Cube - yes you can place any silverlight content in all of its six sides. Just note that the content will not be automatically resized to fill the cube side, because the cube uses Canvas elements to render. You will need to set fixed size for your root element in the side.

All the best,
