Basically to achieve it you need to customize your filter area. Please check this code library article for a sample implementation.

Can you please add this as a fluent configuration feature. When configuring a column we could say something like:
where "ItemList" is of type IEnumberable<SelectListItem> or System.Web.Mvc.SelectList.
I think this would be a popular feature!

Hello Petur,
I customized the filter in Grid following the sample application you provided and have 2 questions. Can you take a look at them?
1. Is it possible to make one value selected from the beginning in the dropdown filter? (Please look at the 1st sheet of the attachment.)
2. Dropdown list of filter condition is not shown correctly only at the first time opening filter window in the sample application. Could you help us to advise how to solve this? (Please look at the 2st sheet of the attachment.)

Hi Hironori,
On my side using the latest version everything is works correctly. When I apply filters on the server side the filter menu is updated accordingly.
Could you please check if the behavior you described is the same after updating to the latest version?
