Can the filter drop-down show distinct list of values for an entire dataset as bound to a DomainDataSource or programatically built?
Since there could be a potentially large number of values, would it be possible to add a pager control to the results list so that it loads a page worth at a time.
Is that possible? If so can you show me a code example?

Support for populating distinct values asynchronously using DistinctValuesLoading event will be available with our SP2 - middle of January 2010.
