I’m trying to run FiddlerCap Web Recorder.  When I check ‘Decrypt HTTPS traffic’ as True, I get a dialog box appear titled ‘A note about HTTPS Decryption”, upon selecting okay, the 'Decrypt HTTPS traffic'  appears as false again and a note in the bottom left footer of the application states ‘Sorry, unable
to create root certificate’.

I'd appreciate any help in resolving this.

Thanks.

Hi,

I'm having some issues adding fiddler.exe as a reference in VS2013, no matter what i do VS does not recognize it as a reference when building the solution.
Intellisense reads it just fine and i can add it and any object within in it to the code without any issues.
I've tried this both in a new project and an in an existing inspector solution I've grabbed from github (I'm modifying the WCF binary inspector to decode FastInfoset encoded messages), also tried copying the exe locally instead of grabbing it from the Program Files directory.
Has anyone experienced this issue or has any insights in how to solve it?

P.S.
For fiddler 4 is it possible to use .NET 4/4.5 project profiles for fiddler (4) plugins? the fiddler documentation is quite outdated  and it still instructs me to create a .NET 3.5 solution.

Thanks.

How do I set the filter for multiple URLs? For example, I want to do something like this:

Show only if URL contains: .php OR .aspx

I looked at the Filters documentation, but it didn't say much about the URL filter.

Hi,

Does somebody have a sample rule to capture a sessionId from a response and use it as an input in the subsequent request?

Sorry, if this issue is already answered before. I am very new to fiddler.

Sample could be for any standard application on the web. Like login/logout to twitter or yelp etc.

Thanks much in advance.

Regards,
S

Hi.

Trying to compare two sessions, but having a prompt show up saying I need windiff.exe (see image capture attached).

I tried to look for this file in the Fiddle installation folder (in case the file path was wrong), or checked the Fiddler add-ons section, but to no avail.

Could you please point me to the file?

Thanks.

Hello,

First of all please excuse my ignorance in networking, my expertise is mainly application development.

Is it possible to monitor http traffic for a couple of clients that are not on my local network? I thought I can do something similar with Fiddler, but the Proxy that Fiddler creates seems to be exposed for LAN only, I can't configure it for my external (internet) IP address.

So, could anyone please just lead me to the right way, what do I need here? Should I host my own proxy server and then chain it with fiddler, and let the users use this proxy server? What is the best option?

A client is asking me to do this, they have some sort of a survey and they want to log all http activity for a couple of users over a period of time. So that's the main objective.

Thanks,

When you set a filter (via the tab), it obviously no longer displays irrelevant sessions. How do I undo this by displaying the filtered sessions once again?

Thanks.

Hi,

Want to know if there is any option to enumerate a web client requesting a HTTP session and get the maximum information about the web client, at least the following information:

1.    MAC/Hardware address of the client
2.    Computer name
3.   OS type
4.    IP address
5.   Current user logged in or users list

Fiddler will be configured to act as reverse proxy.

Thank you,
JD

Hello,
i used this guide:https://aurir.wordpress.com/2010/03/22/tutorial-getting-android-emulator-working-with-fiddler-http-proxy-tool/
to configure fiddler and the Android Emulator but does not work. The browser on the emulator only shows a "page not found" error.
I can see the request in fiddler(something like hash.org/ ) but not more. What is wrong?
