Could it be possible:

a) Could you give us a property to set the opacity of the images to the left and right of the selected image? I want to make the other images less intrusive!

b) I would like to be able to designate how many images I want to show to left and right of selected image. Again, I want to make the selected image as the main focal point with less distraction surrounding.

c) Can we get opacity  property on the reflection area as well?

d) It would be great if the CoverFlow component could display the TAG property of each image under the selected image. This way we can have a title for each image.

e) Would it be possible as the left and right image become farther away from the center image, they can scale to smaller and less opaque? This way, it will create a sense of dimension? Request (a) is related to this.

I hope this request can be reviewed when Valentin returns.

Thanks!
..Ben

Hello Ben,

Here are my answers:
a) You could set different opacities to the five states of the RadCoverFlow items in their control template: left-most, left, center, right, right-most. The control cannot gradually change the opacity of its items, though.

b) This is currently not possible, but as far as I can remember, we have received this feature request in the past, so most probably it is a good idea to add a property that will control how many items will be visible on both sides of the selected item.

c) You could use the ReflectionStartAlpha property for that. Does it work for you?

d) This is something we want to implement in the near future. Actually, it was in our plans for the initial release of RadCoverFlow, but we had no time to finish it.

e) This is achievable to some extent using the states of RadCoverFlow item, but you will have only five item sizes.

Kind regards,

Would it be possible to make that as exposed property? Or can you give a sample/information on changing a control template that's is already in the dll and then put it back again into dll? And what about when we get new updates? Do we have to change the control templates again?

b) This is currently not possible, but as far as I can remember, we have received this feature request in the past, so most probably it is a good idea to add a property that will control how many items will be visible on both sides of the selected item.

It would be great to add this feature.

Five item sizes is better than one size. Could you please show us how to?

Valeri, while we are still on the subject of feature request, would it be possible to add "SlideShow" feature to coverflow? With delay time and repeat feature and random selection. You can also add a button on the navigation to start/pause/stop the slideshow.

Thank you in advance Valeri!

Hello Ben,

I created an example of how you can use the ItemControlTemplate to achieve a, d and e. The template is in the example and you can also use it to customize anything else if you like.

Miroslav, thank you for taking the time and preparing the sample. I will look into it later on and let you know.

Throughout the forum section,, I have seen great samples being created for different situations. And I feel these little samples can be a great source of solving problems. Is there a way that we can have a place on this forum where we can look at other samples that were created for other cases? This will save time of asking the same questions over again. I've tried the search, but the search does not return good and detail info.

Thank you one again!

Hello Ben,

Actually, the Code Library section serves as a pool for sample applications. Once a project becomes a common problem solver, we will surely upload it to the Code Library section.
