What's with Telerik Control Panel? I'm unable to open it since yesterday on two different machines getting "Failed to retrieve data from Telerik web service" error message:

Hello Dean,

Thank you for reaching us.

We don't have any other reports of this error. Could you try to repair any corrupted components by executing a system file check. Please review in details the following resources:
After the check is complete please do the following:
  1. Review the result of the check in the console
  2. Review the log of the check in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log for any corrupted Windows components
  3. Run the Telerik Control Panel and check if the issue still occurs

Meanwhile, you can download the latest Telerik products and related resources through your Telerik account.

Please let us know us know if this helps.

Regards,
Ventsi

Hi guys

Please, excuse us for the inconvenience.

We have introduced a breaking change in out services which causes the problem. To work around it, you have to remove the old version of the Progress Control Panel and install the latest one. You can download it from your account page.

Hello guys,

We are sorry for not getting right from the first time. We have deprecated the old version of the Control Panel now. So, if you start it, you will receive the "Old Progress Control Panel Version" message dialog with a download button. Use that button to get the latest version and remove the old one.

Please, have in mind that you have to remove the old version from your system manually (from Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features). Otherwise, it (the old one) will be launched no matter what .exe is used (even the latest one).

I tried this morning and it worked. It did have me download the updated installer first. I did not have to manually uninstall the old version.

I am now updated to 2019.1.115.

Thanks.

Hmm, I was wrong. The old installer does need to be removed.
