The grid filter is directly associated with the Grid, but I want a different set of filter criterias placed somewhere else on the UI and on click of that, the grid should get filtered out.

Actually the grid filtering is based on our QueryableCollectionView filtering and you can integrate codeless controls like RadDataFilter. You can write also your own filtering.
