External User Access

Hey there,
  I was just going through this with the PM, and he was wanting to use some of our licenses for the project owners to log in to add stories and ideas...but I'm not seeing any way to restrict or limit access.  So I dont want them logging in to give me more Tasks and delete stories :)

What's should we do from here...create a separate silverlight or aspx interface to just dump in stories and ideas do you think?

(fyi, the feeds are a nice touch to get an overview)

Hello Steve,

At this time there is no way to limit access in a Role like manner. Its either full access to a project or none. We do have Role Based Access in our backlog, but it will be some time before this is implemented. 

For Stories, one thing you could do at this time is give your PM a excel CSV template. If you go to the Import Stories screen within TeamPulse you will be able to download a sample there. This way the PM could give you some Stories and you could decide what ones ultimately make it into your TeamPulse project.

For ideas, you could make a separate project for your PM and have him make his Ideas in there, or have him\her make global Ideas assigned to no project. Then you can move those ideas into your production TeamPulse project when ready by changing their assigned Project. But this approach will not work for Stories.
