Is it possible to export a gantt view to Word/Excel/Png?
Is it possible to export a gantt view to an MS Project file? (xml file)
Are there any other export options?

Hi Justin,

Adding import/export features to the GanttView control is on our road map, but these features are not ready yet. We've created some sample code that demonstrates how to implement Import from MSProject files, but we don't have export example yet.

We will do our best to either implement built-in export to MSProject or to create an example how to do it using external code, for the 2012 Q3 release. Other export formats are not planned yet. It would be nice if you could describe how would you expect the GanttView to be exported to Excel or Word.

Thanks for the info.

I wouldn't expect the ganttview to have any complicated export to excel/word.  It would just be nice to have export features like the RadChart has - where you can export it to excel (basically insert it in excel as an image), pdf, or png/bmp.  Basically it would be nice to have .ExportToImage(stream, encoder) and .ExportToExcelML(stream) methods.  Word isn't that important, but it would be nice to export the image into word like it is done in excel.

Another thing that might be nice would be to include or exclude the table in the export. (and also when printing)  Sometimes the user might just want print/export the gantt chart, and hide the table columns when printing/exporting.  I've used RadiantQ's gantt control before(http://demos.radiantq.com/silverlight/)  --in terms of ease of use and performance, Telerik's gantt is way better, even in its early stage. (kudos to you!)   RadiantQ provides an export to image (png/bmp), and have examples of how to export just the table, just the chart, or both.  (if you go to the URL, its under "Common", click on "ImageExport")

Thanks,
Justin

Hi Jean,

The export to excel functionality is not implemented yet and actually we haven't planned it for the future releases. However with the Q2 2013 version the control provides printing functionality, you can check the following article which demonstrates how to achieve it:
http://www.telerik.com/help/silverlight/radganttview-exportingsupport.html

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions let us know.

Hi Telerik Team,
Is there any option to Export RadGantt to Xml. If possible please attach a sample file or show some example, it will so useful to us.

Thank You.

Hi Punitha,

I'm afraid that currently the GanttView control only supports importing MS Project xml file. The exporting to xml is not supported.

If you have any other questions let us know.

Kalin
