Hi,
The export to excel functionality does not work when the grid is having hierarchical data. It works fine when there is only one level in the grid. In your example also the grid is having only level 1 hierarchy.
So is multi level hierarchy grid export not supported. And if yes, then is there any work around possible to achieve the same and are you planning to add this functionality in your future releases?

Thanks,

Hi,

Unfortunately hierarchical grid exporting currently is not supported and we will do our best to provide this as soon as possible. Once this is available we will add an example in our online demos.

Kind regards,

Hi,
Is export to excel functionality supported for heirarchical gridview? It works fine when there is only one level in the grid.
I want the expand-collapse functionality in excel as well or at least the whole data in expanded form. Currently i am able to get the screenshot of what i have in the browser (Only that data in expanded form which i have expanded in the browser).

I am using telerik 2009, Is there any way to achieve this functionality for 2009 version?

thanks,
Unnati

Hello unnati,

Unfortunately hierarchical grid exporting is not supported for the version 2009 of Telerik controls.

It is supported for the version Q1 2011. You may see our online example about exporting RowDetails.
You may as well take a look at this forum post about exporting hierarchal grid.

Best wishes,
