Hi, when I save the document in docx format and I open it again with the control or with MSWord 2007, the tables format change. Or exceeds the margin or reduces its size. (see attachment). I have the RadControls for Silverlight Q3 2010.

Hello Diego,

Table support is a feature we introduced less than two months ago and there are still a lot of undeveloped features (e.g. fixed column width) and such that would use some improvement. Overall, you can look forward to the next releases for better table export of more complex tables.

Hello,

I was just wondering if there is new support for complex table layouts?

I have the latest Telerik release and use the 'internal builds' to keep current... and I still have little things happen with my tables. One example is during a save or export. Most of the time the tables keep their formatting width. On occasion the tables lose their width and push the text to the left. It's sort of like the columns all reset to some 'auto width' and what was a nicely laid out table is changed to a blob of cells all left justified.

The document looks as expected while they edit. During the edit they save and keep editing. At some point they close the document. It's not until they reopen it that they discover the document layout has changed.

I actually don't know if the layout change is happening during the export function or the import function. I'll see if I can figure out a way to test that.

Anyway, please let me know and thanks,

~Dave

Hello Dave,
As I answered your questions in the support ticked you opened, we support complex tables but our table layout has some differences compared to MS Word; we are aware of that and it is on our to-do list to improve our product as far as table layout is concerned.
If you have any other questions do not hesitate to contact us.
