Hi,

When i use telerik editor demo at http://demos.telerik.com/silverlight/#RichTextBox/TelerikEditor

I have the following problems for exporting to different formats

* a table's row is exported as wrapped, attached as (test1.docx and test1.rtf) so the page one content exceeded to second page.
pdf and html output is correct (test1.pdf, test1.html)
* the html output also has an error the second image should be in the right side of the textblock but it is set as left side. (test1.html)
And second page's content is displayed in the first page.

the original content is taken as xaml output to test1.xaml for you to generate the test situation.

I am using online version http://demos.telerik.com/silverlight/#RichTextBox/TelerikEditor
Thanks for your attentions and help.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us!

Regarding the table issue, I presume you are referring to the way the first table in the document is shown in MS Word, is that correct? We are not sure what causes this issue and importing the DOCX back in RadRichTextBox seems to look okay. We will further investigate the cause of the behavior.

Generally, we try to ensure lossless conversion between the supported formats. Unfortunately, this is not always possible due to the fact that the native RadDocument model does not always have proper equivalents in the other formats. This is specifically true for HTML which has major differences in the model. We constantly try to improve the HTML support, however at this point I cannot say if and when floating images might be exported to HTML without loss of their positioning.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any other comments or questions.

Regards,
Petya

Hi,

Yes we are aware of RadDocument has it's own format and elements and you support different versions using providers working
in a bidirectional way. That is a very great work. The aim of my post is to show you 2 things that should be fixed, improved or supported.

* output to msword as you say: I am referring to the way the first table in the document is shown in MS Word, the answer is yes.
This behavior also affects the total pages generated.
and the image layout for html.

We wonder if there will be any improvement(s) about these 2 facts due to "lossless conversion". Can we have
a more precise time-given feedback? Or Should we open a ticket to cause something to start and track it?

We really appreciate your work and see "Your Work" always goes further.

Thanks for the help.

Hello,

Thank you for getting back to us!

When it comes to the table layout issue, to further explain the particular table has fixed width and columns widths. However, the total sum of the column widths exceeds the width of the table itself. It seems that in such cases MS Word layouts the table with its width and changes the columns proportionally. However, RadRichTextBox takes the column widths, which is what causes the issue. You could workaround this by changing the widths accordingly.

I logged this in our internal tracking system and created an item in the Feedback & Ideas portal which you can track: http://feedback.telerik.com/Project/143/Feedback/Details/87850-table-with-fixed-width-less-than-the-sum-of-its-fixed-column-widths-layouts-accor. Unfortunately, I am unable to commit to any specific time-frame when this may be resolved.

As to proper positioning of floating images when exporting to HTML, this is unfortunately not in our immediate plans due to the differences outlined in my previous reply. Please excuse us for the inconvenience.

Let me know if you have other concerns or additional feedback.

Petya
