We are currently using the Microsoft charting controls for asp.net, but I would like to try and migrate them to your Chart control. One nice thing about the Microsoft charting controls, is that the output is simply an image format. This makes it easy to drag an image from the browser into wherever its needed (for example, sending the chart image in an email to someone by just dragging the image from the browser to the email, or attaching the image to the email, etc. etc.)
Is there any way to render the output of the chart as an image? Or, at least have some sort of export feature?

We have a Code Library that demonstrates how to export the Chart. It applies to Kendo UI which supersedes the Telerik MVC extensions.

The same technique is applicable for the legacy MVC Chart as well.
