Hello,
I'm trying to connect the express version with a MySQL (v5) on a remote server but keep getting the following error "Telerik.OpenAccess Express Edition Licensing: Not a connected express server.". Can someone please give me more details?
Regards,
Fabio

Hi Fabio Wada,
Is it working with a local server? Can you send me the exact server version?

Jan,
The ORM is able to obtain the tables and generate the source files, but when I try to connect or use the "OQL Query Browser" I get this message. I'm not able to test the solution on a local MySQL due to company policies. The version of MySQL is 5.0.16 running on Windows.
Regrads,
Fabio

Hello Fabio,
I've looked into this and you are right: the locality check is made, and you will not be able to connect to a remote server with the express edition (old Vanatec behavior). I've updated the code and the next version will not have this restriction. Thank you for pointing this out; I've given you some points for that.
Best wishes,
Thomas

Hello Telerik team,
When do you plan to release a build of Telerik ORM Express with this fix?

Hello Thomas,
Could you please send me intermediate (nightly) build of ORM Express. I don't care about potential bugs, the only thing I need is the fix with remote MySQL. And later when the official release will be ready I will switch on it.
Thanks in advance,
Aliaksei Harabchuk

Hi Aliaksei,
please be patient, we can not make internal releases available. You will see a new version shortly.
Anyway, please follow the instructions provided (use the Trial version and recompile everything) because the issue touches only the Express version. So you should get it running with the current (trial) release and if not, we need to check if there is another issue.
Thanks for your understanding.
Sincerely yours,
Peter Brunner

Hello Peter,
I have recompiled my project with trial version as you suggested and now it works fine. Thank you!
At least my current urgent issue is solved.
I will be waiting for the next release.
