[Solved] Error launching the runner

Hi ,
I have been using WebAii for past 1 year or so and bulk of my interest is in SL automation.
Our co. is evaluating Telerik controls for SL.And as a result I am evaluating The WebUI Studio for SL automation.

The issue I am facing is pretty simple.
-I record a simple TC involving Sliverlight.
-I try to run them.

Error comes :-

OS:Windows XP SP2
Build-December 10 build
IE-7.0
I have checked other forum threads and have setup IE 7.0 in accordance with AOT's instructions on the same,but that did not resolve this issue.

Please help me resolve this issue.

Hello Ketan,

Thank you for your interest in WebUI Test Studio.

How do you try to run the recorded test -- do you use the Quick Execution way of running that or do you execute the test via the VSTS runner (Test View, Test List Editor)? Also does the error appear any time you run the test or is it just the first time you try that?

2.This issue comes up every single time I run the Tests.

Can you try running the test in VSTS runner (Test View, Test List Editor)? Please post back if you run into any problems with this execution and I'll try checink out what might be happening in XP SP2.

Hi,

Test execution through VSTS runner works perfectly.Thanks for pointing me in that direction.

Would that mean Quick execution is an issue with Telerik WebUI recorder in XP SP2?

Hello Ketan Kalia,

Allow me to interject on behalf of Konstantin. The short answer to your question is No, normally there is no problem running on XP SP2.

What we have seen happen on a few rare occasions is our test runner program get stuck and not shut down properly. If it's still running when you try to launch another test you will get the error you are seeing.

Open up Task Manager and look for a process named ArtOfTest.Runner.exe. If you find it still running but no test is actually running please kill it using End Process in Task Manager.
