Hello Charles,

Thanks for posting the screenshot. So this looks like a text box attached to a calendar (RadDatePicker or Ajax Toolkit) right? Does this not record at all in the stand alone remote recording browser window as well? Here is a video for recording in this manner for reference.

If you are still unable to record in the remote recorder, if you could please post either a link to example page online of the text box, or post back with sample page code and any other dependencies for that control. We'd like to try this out on this end and find a work around if need be.

Hi Nelson,

Thanks for the reply ... thats not date picker thats just a icon to clear the values in the field ..

while i was recording it didnt capture the value which i entered , but when i do the verification it works fine ..

Ex: if i change the value at the field the validation fails ..

I want the entered value to be captured and to be added in the test steps ..like in the example video its capturing the searttext in the Google page.

So help me to solve this issue .

Thanks for the update. So just to confirm, typing into the text box does not record a test step. But you are able to record a verification step over the value you typed into the text box?

Is this just a plain html text box, or if not, could you post back with what type of control it is? Also, do you have any custom Javascript or other code that intercepts the key strokes? And could you describe how the text box is placed on the page (i.e. in a frame, table, grid, etc)?

It does sound odd that this is ha[[ening, and I'd like to give this a try on this end. So if you could please post a working code example or attach the page along with any dependencies to have it working, I'll look to get a repro going and a possible workaround. Or if possible, can you grant us temporary access to your application online for us to try?

Thanks for allowing us access to your site and the details on the issues.

For issue number 1: Unfortunately, the custom Javascript menu is something we are not able to automate using WebUI recording as it seems to not be part of the DOM.

You can try using a coded step with the method ActiveBrowser.Actions.InvokeScript() to run the script directly. I tried using this with the 'Refresh' option in the menu, but it seems there was method calls that I could not quite follow. You might have more success with this as you probably know the Javascript better.

For issue 2: I am attaching a test the I was able to record successfully using the remote recording browser instance. Please try this on your end and let us know if it works out.

Hi Nelson:

Thanks for the prompt reply and the attachment.

We are trying to record it the way you have mentioned, but all in vain.

We are not able to see the steps beyond the 7th step (Please see the attachment).

Could you please tell us if we need to modify any settings in the tool or if you could send us the instructional video it would be of great help.
