Hi Telerik team,

We had WebUI Test Studio Run-Time Edition installed on the build server to run the WebUI tests. Our team is planning to upgrade our developer edition to Q3 release. Will there be any impact if we want to run our tests created with Q3 release in build server with Run-Time edition? Is there any Q3 release for run-time edition as well that we need to upgrade to?

Hi ching ping,

Every time we create a new build and new release we create new versions of all 4 WebUI related installers:

  • Dev Edition installer
  • QA Edition installer
  • Run Time Edition installer
  • WebAii Framework installer
It is important that all your machines are kept in sync and use the same version. So if you upgrade your developers to Q3, you also need to upgrade the Run Time Edition running on your build server to a Q3 version. You should be able to download the new Run Time Edition installer from your account (or whosoever account owns the license).

Failing to keep all the machines in sync will create incompatibilities somewhere in your build and/or testing process.
