Hi there,
I have created a custom webpart page template and would like to include the editor on the template - so that once a new page has been created the editor is already added into the page. I including the editor into a template but when the new page was created the editor webpart simply said it could not connect - is this at all possible?

So it is possible to do then? Maybe you could tell me the correct way to add the webpart into a template and I could have another go?
Honestly speaking we have not tested r.a.d.editor sharepoint edition in such scenarios.
It would be great if you can provide your WebPart page template so our development team can test it :)

Hello Mike,
We did some tests with the WebPart page templates, but SharePoint would not let us insert any WebParts in the WebPartZones, always throwing the following exception:
Exception Details: Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.WebPartPageUserException: No children of WebPartZone allowed.
Is there anything special that has to be done to get the template working? It will be nice if you can provide some information about your Sharepoint installation so we can reproduce the case as closely as possible. Do you use Sharepoint Portal Server or just Sharepoint Services, what service packs do you have installed, etc.?
Please excuse us for the extra loop as we require more detailed infromation to be able to provide a suitable solution.

Hi there,
I am using SPS2003 SP2 I think - nothing special at all. I simply modified one of the custom templates and added in a couple of webpart zones using Frontpage 2003.

This is currently not possible. A WebPart can be used in a lot of different situations and we are constantly striving to support them all. We'll continue investigating this and will try to fix the problem in the next version. Thank you for pointing this out!
