Hi,

Does Pie3D chart support the drill-down functionality? I can see Pie chart (2D) works and raises the ItemClick event of ChartArea But the same logic doesn't work for Pie3D. Do I need to change/add any particular code?

Regards,
Maulik Patel.

Hello Maulik Patel,

Unfortunately our Silverlight 3D engine does not yet support click events. This is crucial in order to support drill downs. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Thanks for a response, Vladimir Milev. Do you have any idea when the ItemClick is supported in any future release? It would be really helpful if ItemClick is supported for each 3D type of Charts.

Regards,
Maulik Patel.

Hi Maulik Patel,

We do not have any immediate plans for introducing click events in our 3D engine as there are higher priority tasks in our pipeline. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Kind regards,

Hi,

Is the drill-down supported now in the latest release?

Hi Maulik Patel,

It is currently not supported. We also decided that we will not further extend the current 3D functionality of RadChart, apart for critical bugfixes. Our aim is to provide a more adequate solution to replace it in the future.

Hi, I'm evaluating Silverlight controls, what do you mean by "more adequate solution to replace it in the future." will the Silverlight controls be out of the market?, or just 3d functionality for the chart, i mean my question was raised by a recent article I read about Microsoft not extending silverlight in favor of HTML5.
Thanks and Best Regards
Juan

Hi Juan,

We meant the 3D functionality of the chart. Silverlight 5 will come out with native 3D support and will offer better facilities for 3D than our homegrown software 3D renderer.
